What is GDM?

Ts glucose intolerance that develops or is first recognised during pregnancy. Its generally asymptomatic & usually remits after delivery. However there is an increased rist of t2dm in later life.

RISK FACTORS :-
  • Precious history of GDM
  • Obesity
  • Pregnancy at older age
  • History of large gestational age babies

OGTT ( 2HRS)

  • > 140
  • GDM
  • > 200
  • OPREGASTATIONAL DIABETES
IT CAN BE LEAD TO SEVERAL FETAL COMPLICATIONS.
  • Fetal macrosomia: large size fetul > 4kg .
  • Intrauterine fetal death.
  • Respiratory distress.
  • Polyhydromnios .
  • Incidence of shoulder dystocia .
IT CAN LEAD TO SEVERAL MATERNAL COMPLICATIONS
  • Incidence of pre-celampsia
  • C- section
